Description

Update V2:
As requested by @customhats i added a new Version to the print profile on a seperate plate (named V2. I know, im really creative…)

Main Change in V2 is, that i added a second ring at the bottom. It should now hold 2" Eco FLow Bottles too. all other changes are minor aesthetics ones, resulting from a broken CAD file. I wasnt able to redo certain fillets and stuff like that. Its only aesthetics and still works as intended.

Hey all

leatherworking is another hobby of mine and it happened more times than id like to admit, that I tipped over my dye bottles. Problem is: Anything that's good in dyeing dead animal skin is also good in dyeing living human skin (and work benches, and floors and if you dyed the floor, your wife will make you bleed, which again is dyeing stuff red).

This is my solution:

A modular dyeing station for leather dye bottles

Features:

  • most common leather dye bottles fit (Fiebings Pro, Tandys Eco and even the small round bottles from ROC)
  • room for your rag, sponge or wool dauber
  • small notch at the front for wool daubers handle
  • brush holder
  • compartment for the lid at the back (won't work with ROC Dye bottles because some genius thought it would be a great idea to put the brush into the lid. Some product designers should be forced to use their own shi**y products)
  • the connectors will take away two of the brush holders but there are enough of them :)
  • easy print. just slab it into your slicer and choose your profile. If you only need one, don't print the connector (doh!). If you print two, print two connectors (not only 1 like me in the pictures - because im dumb :) ).
  • included Step-Files for changing dimensions more easily (just in case you use other dye bottles).
  • sturdy and stable

Print instructions:

  • print as the files come. no orientation needed
  • no supports
  • take your time. It's not the fastest to print, especially if you don't have one of those fancy high speed printer (I don't have one. I need my money for filament!). EDIT: i have one now. Guess, i cant only resist so long…

PS: ignore the shitty print quality in the pictures. Just me messing around with a perfectly working printer and messing stuff up.

P.P.S. Yes, my cutting mat shows, why i need those things :D
