Description

Here is the V3 of Not exactly a wifi QR code this time without ads and an easier print.

Stick this magnet on the fridge so your guest can easily connect to your home network, or so they thougth…

It's just a little fun print that doesn't serve real purpose except to have a good laught.

75 mm square and 5 mm thick.

8x3 magnets are needed (3 pieces) with a drop of CA glue.

You can print this without an AMS. Only 2 filament changes: Start with white then black and back to white.

If you have magnets that are not 8x3, you can easily customize the profile to suit your needs:

  • In BS/OS/whatever slicer, go to the “Objects” tab.
  • Under “Rickroll no ads” select one “magnet” sub-object.
  • Resize it to your magnets size
  • Repeat step 3 for the 2 other magnets.

Quick notes:

This qr code have bigger and rounder pixels making it easier to print than the previous version.

First layer adhesion is crucial. If you have issue printing, make sure you have dryed filaments, a clean nozzle, a clean plate and try the slow print profile. You can also apply glue stick on the plate.

SuperTack plate is recommended.

Happy pranking!

June 25 update:

Removed V2 profiles: the link was flagged by Bitly*.

Added V3:

This version is slighly harder to print, so I slowed down the first layer to 30 and 60mm/s.

→ Since this is a direct link, the prank is less effective (you see the url popping instead of a wifi connection popup…).

Don't blame the model if your friends are smarter than you trying to prank them! 🤣

*If you don't know what Bitly is, it is an URL shortener. It hides the real URL and makes the qrcode more compact.

Happy printing!
