Description

I wanted to made picattiny in cad for future projects that could be moded easily and build upond , i also wanted it to be all printable without the need to buy screws or even have a screwdriver at hand while being sturdy enought , this is my first real “engineering” project since my other prints are more aesthetic ones.

There are 4 rails to choose , to most light to more heavy , i found the second to be the one that works better , this rails follow the picattiny standar and i didnt touch them for tolerances.

There are 2 attachment systems to choose , in the first one i kinda tried to reinvent the wheel and it only has 2 parts , one of the is a bolt that you introduce in the riel and twist to add pressure , the other one uses your standar m5 3d printed bolt that are the design of Jerryie, i suppose that it can also use metal m5 screws but havent tried, i personally like more my custom design since is simpler to screw and has less parts , if you want edit tolerances edit here.

I think the tolerances are at the right spot but this can vary from machine to machine , i recomend to print at 0.12mm fine if your are printing the screw but for everything else 0.20mm standar should be fine.

I uploaded .f3d .obj and .step files and remixing is allowed and encouraged.
