Description

Chocobo Model from Final Fantasy (not game specific).

I noticed that there are not many Chocobo's posted to many of the 3D Printing sites, and a lot of the ones that are there are of Alpha from FFXIV. Thankfully I found a wonderful model from Akiryuu, that with a bit of tweaking works awesomely on Bambu printers!

Including 2 versions with this;

  • One version is single solid color and is printed face down to reduce the need for as many supports. This is the main one used in the display picture, that's been painted after printing. This Model also has an optional negative block on the feet to allow it to stand a bit better when printed (otherwise its a bit unsteady). Note: Be careful when removing the supports holding up the chest, as they surround that front plumage, and if you don't go slowly you risk breaking off the two front feathers!

  • The second model is an AMS compatible multi-color print that's printed standing up, and has custom painted supports. This model is intentionally pressed a bit below the build plate, again so its feet print flat. This is optional if you want the full featured feet. Note: Be careful when removing the supports around the head. If you are using a wet filament, or a more brittle filament (like PLA Silk) you risk snapping the neck when removing the supports!

This model prints wonderfully in multiple colors, so you can have every color of chocobo out there!
