I would like to present you my latest model, it is a Caterpillar 6020B mining excavator which I have been designing for over two weeks, including prototyping.

This is an advanced model due to the design of the tracks. It is best to print them from regular pla as it will allow you to remove the supports relatively easily. The model is adapted for rotating tracks, you only need to drill a hole in the wheels and then screw in a screw that will lock them.

If you have a problem with any part, please write to me or leave a message

Very hard to assemble this with no proper instructions/more pictures.Tracks do not fit. Since I'm also a designer, here's some tips: make female and male connectors, that way when you are gluing pieces you make it very precise. Files are missing from the raw model folder, I tried adding them to fusion 360 to make a model out of it, but with no success. I'll be happy to change my review once there's a manual/more pictures or a cad file. Appreciate the work tho!

I have found similar issues with the majority of his files. Tolerances aren't quite right, assembly areas are to small and break and as stated above there is no manual. because we are installing these designs without snap fittings and using super glue, there is no way to start new. Also this is NOT a KIDS TOY! beware if you decide to make this for your child.

Thank you for sharing this excavator model. The aesthetic appeal is evident, and the overall appearance of the model is commendable. Overall, I appreciate the opportunity to free downloding this model and acknowledge the effort put into its design. Nevertheless, for future endeavors, I would opt for a model that not only boasts aesthetic appeal but also incorporates functional elements to provide a more realistic excavator experience. The glueing was a mess.

in your colored print profile did you do any fixes? I am printing the original and there is an extra cut of the doors in the back. I notice it's removed on your print. there are also more pins on your plate for the hydraulic cylinders, I counted 13 and I seem to be missing some from the original print. Did you change any of the tolerances for you print so the pins fit better? then again I haven't finished printing or putting it together so I might have things mixed up. I'll provide more information after I finish all the prints.

Hello, I left out some parts because I didn't understand their purpose. I added some pins as there were some missing in the original. I didn't adjust them but trimmed them afterwards, slightly heated with a lighter, and then pressed them together. To be honest, building the model wasn't enjoyable.

It’s extremally hard to design model like this to be easy to assemble. I tried to optimize every part of the design but the point is that every printer prints different. On some printers pins are perfect size, on different printers their sizes are wrong. My only idea is to make them print in one, non moving part

it's a beautiful model and printed well. I found the assembly to be extremely time consuming trying to figure out where the parts and what pins go where. the pin connection between the stick and the boom is too long as well as the pin connecting the bucket and stick. some pins tolerance were off also. plate 2 has an extra part. it's the door plate at the very back of the machine. a few tweaks and it will be the nicest print I've done so far.

This was fun to build, thank you. How you created the track was awesome.

These models you do are extremely nice. And you give them away? You should be selling them, just sayin'...! I know the community here is to "share" but these are way and above that. You do great 3d printable models. :)

You should also design some that can be motorised, perhaps via OpenRC

Which parts are missing? About 20 people built this model and none of parts were missing…
