Description

Prints on the Bambu P1S in exactly 30 minutes with the provided 3mf file. Print in PLA with 100% infill. Be careful not to bend the wings while removing from the build plate.

Check out v5, a biplane:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/451625#profileId-358694

Instructions:

-

Once you take the glider off the build plate, flip it over(flat side facing up) and fold the two elevators up as shown above. Fold between 30 to 45 degrees, it is better to fold lower than higher.

-

Next, fold up the 2 stabilizers exactly 90 degrees. Make sure that the weighted side of the head is facing down relative to the stabilizers and elevators.

The glider should look similar to the image shown. To throw, hold between the wings and head of the plane. Throw it like a dart, but with less force. If the glider flies to the left or right, make sure that the stabilizers are at a 90 degree angle or manually adjust the flaps on the stabilizers. If the glider doesn't stay at the same height, lower or raise the elevators until it does consistently.

The wings are a bit fragile and can easily crack when they hit a wall

Took some time to get it off the plate without ripping it, but it printed great. Looking forward to trying it in a bigger space.

Hello, The glider can be easily removed from the plate after around 10 minutes of cooling. You can remove the plate from the bed to lower the time to 2-3 minutes or you can bend it to release the head of the glider. From there, you can pull the head of the glider up to release the rest of the print.

It came up easily from the bed and it does indeed glide. It requries a bit of distance to really glide so use in small rooms doesn't work well, but my kid will enjoy it. It is fragile, but I think that just comes with the territory of gliders.

Hi, Nano Glider v3 is suited better for smaller rooms. Both gliders should be durable if thrown at the right speed and collide with objects head-on if they collide before landing. Nano Glider v3: https://makerworld.com/en/models/435736#profileId-340834
