Description

*I received a request to do a version without a baby.  I have added a new profile with the original mom/baby but now there is also a mother with an older child silhouette.   I also have versions with all layers combined (using supports) or split onto individual plates so they can be printed and combined.

A nice mothers day mandala for the mothers in your life. This prints fairly quickly and it is easy to change the color for each layer as each of them are distinct objects in the assembly. Supports are needed but I was able to remove all of them in around 3-5 minutes. Some could possibly remain and not be seen if you aren't picky.

I printed the layers separately and then glued them together to avoid supports. I ran into a small problem since layer 6 has four pegs (one in each corner) and layer 5 has only one hole for the pegs (as you can see in the photo), so what I did is I stopped the print of layer 6 just before it started printing the pegs. Otherwise fantastic print, thank you so much. I enjoyed printing it and I’m sure my mother in law will love it.

How did you print them separately?

Could you please share the files of the seperated model? I'm having trouble doing it myself.

Hey unfortunately I’m not home since we’re visiting my mother in law. I will share them but next week. if you need to print it before then, what I did is, I downloaded and opened the .3mf file in Bambu studio, selected objects instead of global from the left side. Then select Plate 1 and MomCorrected. From the list delete all the layers except the one you want to print. Repeat for all 6 layers. Keep in mind that before you send to print layer 6 to pause it just before the pegs start to print, i.e. as soon as layer 18 starts. Good Luck.

Was hard to get all the supports off but it turned out beautifully. I included the back before all of it was off then after all of it was off. I think it turned out great.

Looks great, I tried to use support settings that were easier to remove.but there was only so much that could be done. Thanks for the feedback!

Good job, I tried to minimize the support removal pain but I know it's still a chore. (I used needler nose pliers for mine)

End results looks great and only had an issue with the single print. Plate 5 is missing 3 of the 4 locating holes for plate 6. Drilled holes into it plate 5 and everything fits.

I didn't even realize I had uploaded the one with alignment holes. It wasn't intended, I ran out of time to get them all done so I was going to upload a version with every layer flat. I'll set it to private until I can get home and upload that. Thanks for the heads up.

Posting with your logo that leads to the etsy link selling these for $12 each is a little risky.

I think the license allows for commercial use with attribution? But yea, I wouldn't have done that either lol

This was a great print. My wife loves it. Took me a good 15 min to take off the supports but that’s just the nature of the beast. A good set of needle nose pliers helped. For some reason my camera makes the print lines really pop but it looks a lot better in person.

Yeah I did add a new version that can be printed one layer at time and assembled but I personally prefer dealing with the supports vs babysitting 6 prints.
