Description

This amazing automatic M3 bolt sorter is designed for the specific bolts you can see in the picture. I don't know how it works with other M3 bolts, but feel free to try. :)

I also added a Gridfinity version.

Well, the thing is: to sort all of my mixed M3 bolts I'll have to pick them myself one by one and to sort them using this "machine" I'll have to do the same plus I'll have to wait patiently for the longer bolts to roll down the slope. Sieve-like helpers made to sort M2, M3, M5 etc. nuts will actually save time and this piece of equipment rather not.

I don't try to save the world here. Some people enjoy the design others don't.

You could've sorted 5 screws in the time it took to type and send this. Oh my, I could've sorted 2 😝

Printed great, thanks Be great if you designed a m2 and m4 size.

I am pretty sure 12mm long m4 screws are also 12mm long 😜 Seriously though: did you try it with other screws?

This is really awesome thank you. I wonder if there is a way to add on something that allows you to funnel a few screws at a time ?

That would be amazing. Some kind of hopper that flips them around the right way. Probably significantly more challenging to get working than this, though. Good luck. I'll give you a follow to see if you manage it.

When the assorted packs of these arrive in the post, they often arrive all jumbled up and in the cheapest plastic case which hasn't survived shipping. If you are dealing with alot of these, this design is perfect.. no more or less than it needs to be. Gather around kiddies.. M3 is the perfect printing size. Large enough that holes printed in any orientation on any printer don't need messing around with tolerances. Small enough that they aren't overkill and don't get in the way on most designs. For almost any purpose, there is no need to go bigger because at this point your plastic is going to bend or break way before your bolts will. So unless you have a specific need for something very tiny or very large and chunky, stick to M3 in every design and make your life simple. Then print this design to save you the sorting dance. Thanks so much for uploading this design.

Thank you! I could not described that better! I just recently picked up the M3 bolts in my designs and I love it. Exactly as you stated. They are the perfect size. Because I do a lot of prototyping and assembling and disassembling, I need to put the bolts back. It was always a pain to be precise and put the bolts back in the right tray and next time not mistakenly take out the wrong one. All these problems are gone, and the size is also printed on the sorter to quickly take out the right bolt.

Great print - simply works - colored manually with a fineliner. Printing instructions would be great!
