Description

Update 1 (May 8 2024):

  • Added new lid "Lid - with design (no AMS version)" to the print profile.
There are two different ways to print this, I described it below in the lid section. I also uploaded a reference photo.
  • Slightly tweaked geometry in the lid's hotend design - the top part where filament enters is now separated from the below body.

This is my first try at 3D modeling after learning in Fusion a little, I appreciate any feedback, and thanks for printing!

I recently bought the A1 Series Hotends Kit from Bambu Store and wanted myself a case that would fit everything

The case includes the following slots:

  • 3x Bambu Lab A1 series Hotend with Nozzle
  • 3x Bambu Lab A1 series Silicone Sock
  • Space for accessories, I made it suitable for G3DS's HotEnd Sock Remover

No supports are needed in any of the parts.

The model is optimized for printing with 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height.

I measured the hotends and silicone socks to be tight fit in the slots so they don't move, but still not difficult to remove and insert

The lid comes in 3 versions:

  • Lid - clear
  • Lid - with design (AMS required) - please note this is untested, I don't have AMS on my printer to test the multi-color print. I don't expect any issues, but please let me know if you encounter any.
  • Lid - with design (no AMS version) - you can print this either:
    1. Single color - no special settings required, just print it as is and the design will be embedded 0.4mm deep into the lid.
    2. Dual color with 2 different filaments - you need to manually add a pause into the slicer at the beginning of layer 3 at 0.6mm layer height.
(note that if you print with different layer height than 0.2mm you might need to pause at different layer)
You can see how both options look in the reference photo.

Excellent design, thank you! I left the hotends in their zip bags which gave them a satisfying press fit.

Perfect, the space for the heads is perfectly calibrated, the silicone hood slots are great, thanks for thinking of them, the box closes perfectly, the little notches for the cap inside do their job very well, a perfect box that fits perfectly into the drawer of my Singer cabinet.
