Description

Arachnophobia?

Spider-Catcher is a must-have for anyone uncomfortable with creepy crawlies, as it effectively captures them from floors, walls, or ceilings, allowing for quick and safe release outdoors.

An extension option (for unlimited size) is also available - because size does matter. ;)

I recommend printing the pyramid part in transparent PETG, of course you can print it in PLA, too.

Usage:

Place the Spider-Catch model over the spider and slide the flap on the underside to safely capture the spider.

Transport the spider to a desired location and release it there by simply rotating the rod, which opens the flap, allowing for touch-free release.

Just show me your Spider Catcher, I would be very happy to see it!

Spinnenangst?

I sure hope this print hurry's up because there's a giant spider on the wall next to my printer and I'd like to not smash it.

Thats spooky.... I hate spiders. I mean they are cool, but I had a.... encounter with a big one at night and have never been the same since lol. I think I might have to give this print a go. just please for the love of god don't rotate the rod early by mistake!

If arachnophobia is so severe, I would recommend securely sealing the threads as a precaution. Looking forward to seeing your print; I hope you'll share it with us. 😍

Before I will give this a bad rating I think it’s better to ask. The Grip (with mounting hole) and the extension do not fit together. printed both in PLA with the profile provided by the designer. am I doing something wrong ? can anyone help ? provided some pictures of the threads just for reference if this helps. thanks :) edit: I just finished printing the catcher and sadly It doesn’t fit either so I think it has to be the grip (with mount hole) that is causing the problem

I sincerely hope that not too many people have printed the old version. I understand how frustrating it can be to discard a print, and it deeply pains me to know that my mistake has resulted in misprints. I would greatly appreciate any feedback and photos of successful prints! Also, thank you for waiting with the rating; I truly appreciate it!

small update: I‘ve used the catcher twice now and it works like a charm! both times the spiders were removed safely. Not sure how but my wife managed to break off the handles - more specific the threaded part (see pictures) maybe you can have a look into making it a little more sturdy. Thank you!

Thank you very much for the feedback and the pictures. I'm very sorry to see that the thread is broken. It's already completely filled, as can also be seen in the photos. One possible improvement could be to print the handle with a stronger material such as PAHT-CF.

I love spiders but hate when they're on the ceiling! I did have to break off some of the threading to get it to go into the handle but it works like a dream! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! I plan on making one for every room (my apartment gets a lot of spiders being in such a wooded area).

I only saw 2 problems. There was no extension on the A1 mini and the catcher must be sized for European Spiders because I have yet to locate any baby spiders here that I can test it on. I did located the teenage spider shown below but he did not fit. I printed the one pictured from the profile I uploaded (the third one) completely on the A1 Mini just to make sure it would work. It's 7 cm shorter overall with the extension but still plenty long for safe spider catching. At least for smaller American and European spiders. Seriously though, great design and I enjoyed printing and assembling it.

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback and the new print profile for the A1 Mini! Yes, while the spider catcher was designed for European spiders, it can certainly be scaled up in the slicer to catch giant spiders (as shown in the impressive picture!).
